Work should not exist for neoliberal gain.
Work should be between the creator and the destination (i.e., end user, customer, client, etc.).
The work should be valuable on its own, with minimal convincing from the creator. This is why we practice our craft, this is why we put in effort every day.
The act of laying out the product on the table for those to see the result is understandable, but this act by itself shouldn’t define work by this definition.
There should never be too many hands involved; only those who have faith in the outcome.
Do work from the heart, do not ever feel as if you must be budged.
And if that day comes when you want to give up, or if you are being misled by others, creativity and critical thinking are key.
Be mindful of those who speak to you in bad faith, and listen closely to those who bring about good faith. It will be difficult, but this is essential.
